Guy Montag is a firefighter. In his world, where television rules, firefighters set out to start fires rather than put them out. His job was to destroy the most illegal items, printed books, along with the houses in which they were hidden.

Montag never questioned the destruction and spoiling of his actions. Wife Mildred, who spends her days on her television “family”. But then he meets an eccentric young neighbor, Clarisse, who introduces him to a past where people didn’t live in fear. When Mildred was about to commit suicide and Clarisse suddenly disappeared, Montag began questioning everything he had ever known. He started hiding books in his house, and when his theft was discovered, the fireman had to run away for his life.
