(Free Online Audiobook) Dodge & Twist By Tony Lee
Tony Lee borrows characters from the classics of Charles Dickens and surely if you search a little you will find out that Dickens too wanted to bring these characters back. Dickens wanted to show the world a mature picture of Oliver Twist especially but his life never provided him enough time.
Now Tony Lee uses the elder version of Twist and Dodger but those who have read the classics will agree that it is not the way that Dickens would have tackled the characters. When it comes to Dickens’ world, the stories have more autobiographical touch; books like Hard Times tell us about Dickens in real life. Even Oliver Twist shared some childhood memories of Charles Dickens during his stay at an orphanage at an early age.
For Tony Lee this one is an exciting play of feelings when the two little lads meet one another after a long time. They are grown up men now and the meeting would have been pleasant if Dodger would not have known the truth about his mentor’s death.
Well Oliver was behind many issues related to Dodger in the past but the present is a change world now apparently. In such circumstances it is hard to tell whether the meeting would be fruitful for the two boys or opposite of it.
Matt Lucas, Kara Tointon, Stephen Mangan and Michael Socha narrate in a neat way and no crossing of voices between these four fellows is observed. Two narrators would have been ample for the narration but here the secondary characters too have been given a VIP treatment and are provided with separate voices.
