I Catch Killers is a book about the life and many deaths of a murder detective by author Gary Jubelin.
I have led investigations into serial murders, child abductions, organized crime, and domestic murder. I have an Om symbol in the shape of a Buddha tattooed on my right bicep. It balances the tattoo on my left rib: Better to die on your feet than live on your knees. That’s how I choose to live my life.

I paid the price with marriages and friendships. I paid with my reputation. They tell you not to make it personal, but I think it should be. Each person takes a piece of mine and adds another, until there are only pieces left.

Gary Jubelin is Australia’s most famous homicide detective, leading investigations into the disappearance of William Tyrrell, the mass murder of three Aboriginal children in Bowraville and the brutal murder of Terry Falconer. During his 34-year career, former Detective Chief Inspector Jubelin also ran the crime scene following the Lindt Café siege, investigated the death of Caroline Byrne, and recovered the body of Matthew Leveson. In 2020, Jubelin was found guilty of illegally recording conversations during the Tyrrell investigation.
