While the second book didn’t work for me, the third introduced some more world-building elements that I desperately wanted. I spent all day reading this book and mostly enjoyed the computer world the author has built.
Unlike the second book, we see a clear development in the plot, building the base, we see the possibility of escalation and meeting new characters.
Synopsis: After building up his team and upgrading them to a suitable level, Jack begins his fight against corruption.
The characters.
I wouldn’t say there’s a lot going on in character development. Since the book has a lot of fun, most of the character development is based on NPCs learning to bend the rules of their world. But we find that most of the characters who despise Jack in the first two books have become more friendly thanks to his actions.
