This is a lovely YA story about school, family and first love. Alice Dyson is a nerd and she wants to be. She wants the world to leave her alone so she can study and get the grades her parents wanted for her. She studied at school and after school took some extra lessons. She has a distance from her parents and only one friend, May.

May is Alice’s friend, but she wants other things. Might want to be famous and sit with famous kids. She tries to drag Alice into all of this but Alice is determined to stay invisible and she does so until she has a comedic encounter with Teddy Taualai, the encounter being filmed. and spread at school. Suddenly Teddy is everywhere Alice is and Alice finds that her routine is disrupted and she discovers that life is not only about learning but sometimes also involving love and emotions.

This is a lovely story with humor in places. I like how the story tackles some serious issues but in a hopeful way and what we see is Alice grappling with the world outside of her books and her feelings, as well as what she does. he wants for his life.
