The Crown and the Mountain fell into the hands of the Sorcerer King’s daughter, 16-year-old Kiera Alexander. She recalls Damien Montgomery, her father’s First Hand, standing as her Regent.

The pair were unprepared to rule but were thrust into the heart of Protectorate politics as the Sorcerer King left behind everything from an unfinished war to an unfinished new Constitution.

Mountain of Mars is the eighth instalment of Damien Montgomery’s story. The book is another good installment of Damien’s story and the overall series story arc progresses nicely. As always, the writing delivers a good balance between the pace and depth of the story which keeps me interested in the characters and their fate. I am definitely looking forward to the next book and the Starship’s Mage has become one of my favourite Sci-Fi series.
