These satirical columns, originally from the Washington Post, are the product of a particular era, but honestly, nothing much has changed. In 2022, we’re still talking about Trump, women’s body autonomy, sexism, racism, our relationship with truth, and all the other platforms that Petri has refers to her barbaric, sarcastic style.

My favorites continue to be the part in which Petri becomes a horror writer, as in Stop Trucking in the Midwest and in which Ivanka Trump becomes a neighbor to the Obamas. I study those works as worthy targets to emulate.

Some paragraphs get a little long after the conceptual humor has been used up, but for the most part, Petri is sharp, funny, and brutally entertaining.
