Corin Cadence finally has solid reason to believe her brother, Tristan, is still alive. Unfortunately, finding more information won’t be easy. Tristan seems to be entangled in a secret organization that calls itself the Whispers. And Corin’s final bout with the Whispers didn’t really end well.

The more Corin wanted to follow that lead, the more pressing problems Corin had to deal with. Sera is still suffering from a mysterious illness that has robbed her of her voice and magic. Corin knows that part of it is his fault, and he’s determined to fix it. His mother is still in another country, and it is increasingly likely that she is involved in a plot to overthrow the faces.

Corin has also been engraved with a new magical mark on his right hand – a mark that even veteran climbers don’t seem to recognize. He’ll need to figure out how it works, or else it might be more of a flaw than an asset.

Corin hasn’t finished his first year in Loren Heights yet. If he fails his final exam, he will be sent to the army and lose the chance to investigate his brother’s fate. And finally, there’s the problem of enemies. He may have done a few of them.

Biggest problem? He’s not sure if Jin, once one of his closest companions, is one of them.

On The Shoulders Of Titans is the second book in the Arcane Ascension series by Andrew Rowe.

This book fully explains its predecessors, especially about world building, and offers a more structured explanation of their mana system. I like to dig deeper into each of the core attitudes, even trying to dig through some of the lesser known references.
