I was a little hesitant about the book, because it wasn’t my usual cozy mystery series. However, I have my own papillon dog so of course I couldn’t resist. Batshit is awesome! I’m a bit annoyed by gay intimacy and dog demeaning things, but that’s just my personal taste and I’m not against the book. I passed it, so you can too! I really hope they release the second book in audio as well!
I’m a sucker for any story that has a dog in it. I’m also a sucker for anything written by Tara Lain. She wasn’t disappointed in this book one bit either. A mystery behind the actions and fears of one of the MCs, and a turning point that changes the other’s life. Makes for great reading. I kept wanting to skip to the end to see how it all went, but held back and read it right away. There were a few minor editorial issues, but it didn’t distract me from the story one bit. As usual, Ms. Lain gave me a 5 star book to read, and will definitely re-read in the future. By the way, the dog in this story is adorable and smart.
