This is an easy-to-read book club. The story is pretty good, although a bit sad. Some of the dialogue is a bit childish at times but overall good storytelling. I don’t expect many stories about mothers’ sacrifices and dreams they have to give up to provide for their children and I like that aspect of it.

I love the voice so much – raw and real and easy to understand. The story is motivating, skip ahead but I never felt like I needed more plot to fill in the blanks. She writes neatly, efficiently, and almost logically. It feels great to be immersed in it. A really, really great read.
