Talon loves Jade deeply and longs to possess her forever, so he must face his worst fears and expose his most raw wounds in an attempt to heal. The road is icy and dangerous, but if he perseveres and walks out to the other side fully, he will eventually be worthy of Jade’s love. The untamed passion between the two still burns, but as the horrors of Talon’s past rise, Jade and Talon are no longer safe….

Just when I thought I had solved the puzzle, Helen Hardt messed it up and now it’s a mess again. What a story. One thing I do know is that this is a well planned story that I just can’t get enough of.

This book really shows Talon’s struggle to escape his past or pain. He finally wanted to move on. He considers his family and Jade as his companions in overcoming the dark struggle. But he has to do it at his own pace, talking when he’s ready. Dr. Carmichael is really giving him what he needs to heal. This is a completely different Talon in this book. He wants to be happy. He wants to get over this. But a lot of chains are still unfinished.

It was interesting when all the players fell together. Very good plot I say again. As I read it, I wondered who or what and when it was revealed I was amazed. Helen Hardt has a great mind for this story. I love the hot, hard, and passionate moments between Talon and Jade but we also see the slower, more compassionate and loving scenes between the two. You can feel the love Talon feels and know it’s completely new and scary for him.
