Rag and Bone/ A Billy Boyle World War II Mystery – Free Full Audiobook
Rag and Bone is the fifth literary fiction book in the Billy Boyle series by author James R. Benn.
Billy is sent to London in the midst of a Luftwaffe bombing raid to investigate the murder of a Soviet official. There is reason to believe that this crime may be related to the recent discovery of mass graves in the Katyn Forest, where thousands of Polish officers were executed. A killer is out there, targeting Soviet officials to avenge the Katyn Massacre? If so, the diplomatic risk could not be higher when the uneasy relations between the Soviet Union and the other allied powers were in the balance.
Scotland Yard appoints Kaz, Billy’s friend, now working for the Polish government in exile, as the prime suspect. Billy must track the killer through London’s criminal underworld and save his friend.
The second world war was given to me. I read about it in school and before reading these books I can give you basic facts in history books. Benn’s books gave me more insight into that war. I’ve only read four of them and they’re out of order, but they still make perfect sense. I know these are in the historical fiction genre, but the author’s notes explain what is fact and what is fiction. Billy Boyle’s books continue to be a good investment for me.
