Rain on the Dead/ Sean Dillon, Book 21 – Audiobook Online

Rain on the Dead is the 21st mystery novel in the Sean Dillon series by author Jack Higgins.
The past comes back to haunt Sean Dillon and his colleagues, as the New York Times best-selling suspense master.
Over the past few years, the killing and capture of many Al-Qaeda leaders has wounded the terrorist organization – but by no means dead. And they intend to prove it.

On a dark summer night, two Chechen mercenaries emerge from the waters off Nantucket to kill a high-value target, the former president of the United States, Jake Cazalet. Unfortunately for them, Cazalet has guests with them, including black operations specialist Sean Dillon and his colleague, Afghan war hero Captain Sara Gideon.

The Chechens did not survive the night, but Dillon was curious about how they reached the island. What he discovered sent chills to his bones – a name that dates back to Dillon’s past. If this man is working with terrorists now, the assassination is just the beginning – and next time, the outcome could be very, very different.

Jack Higgins always surprises us with his stories. I have read most of Jack’s works since I was a young man in the 70s and I have always enjoyed his stories. I also like this one. The enemy that Ferguson’s team is fighting has no honor. They are the worst and they are cowards. It’s really right out of the title. I think we all wish that a group like the Prime Minister’s private army really existed. We are at war with these terrorists, but the right politicians will not fight them. Jack shows us how we should handle these monsters. I recommend this book and all of Jack’s books.
