Red Comet – Audiobook Online By: Heather Clark

Pulitzer Prize Finals.

Sylvia Plath’s much-anticipated biography focuses on her remarkable intellectual and literary achievements, while restoring the woman behind the age-old myths of her life and art.

“One of the best biographies I have ever read.” (Glennon Doyle, author of the New York Times number one bestseller, Untamed)

With a wealth of never-before-accessed material, Heather Clark brings to life the brilliant Sylvia Plath, who had early poetic ambitions and was a successful published writer even before she became a star at the University Smith.

Refusing to read Plath’s work as if her every action were a harbinger of her tragic fate, Clark examines the socio-political landscape as she thoroughly explores Plath’s world: the her initial relationship and her determination not to be a regular woman and wife; her troubles with an unenlightened mental health industry; her Cambridge years and a thunderous encounter with Ted Hughes; and more.

Clark’s clear portraits of Hughes, his mistress, Assia Wevill, and other possessed players in the suicide Plath arena promote a deeper understanding of her final days . Along with reading Clark’s own enlightening, researched, compassionate poems brings us closer than ever to the energetic woman and visionary artist who led the way. way for female poets around the world.

I really enjoyed every bit of this biography that never gets boring. The narrator is pleasant, easy to listen to, and does not disappoint the listener! I made a mistake or two, but, in a book like this, I feel she did a great job overall. This well-researched biography, however, reads like an interesting story. I like references to other poets of the time. The ending is of course the most poignant, most heartbreaking part. Encourage.

The details of her life , inner workings , background , relationship with her original family wish to have it all and the difficulty of doing so . The explanation of all the medications she was taking at the time of her death explains a lot of the “why” of course she became so desperate, having a cheating husband doesn’t help. get what.
