Sad Cypress A Hercule Poirot Mystery – Free Full Audiobook

Sad Cypress is a literary fiction book by author Agatha Christie.
The serene young Elinor Carlisle stood in the dock, accused of murdering Mary Gerrard, her rival. The proof is damning: only Elinor has the motive, the opportunity, and the means to use the deadly poison.

Inside the hostile courtroom, there was only one man who remained innocent until proven guilty: Hercule Poirot was all that stood between Elinor and the gallows.

Another great Hercule poirot book, Hercule is called upon when a woman who declares her innocence while on trial for killing her living rival must go through hell. Elinor is engaged to Roddy and she loves him forever, then he discovers a beautiful young woman taking care of his and Elinor’s elderly aunt. After her aunt died, Elinor sold the house, and while packing up, she invited one of the nurses taking care of her aunt and the young girl to lunch. That’s when death happens. I will say no more here, highly recommended!

I like Agatha Christie’s books and especially those with Hercule Poirot as an investigator, but this one isn’t as interesting as some of the others I’ve read. Hercules is not in the book as much as in the other novels, the focus is on the accused and the events leading up to the murder. It is an OK novel but not the best representation of the work of the author or of the character Hercule Poirot.
