That doctrine pledges that the United States will “support free peoples who are resisting attempts by armed minorities or by outside pressures.” The untested president’s policy is a radical change from 150 years of isolationism, but it will prove to be a pivotal moment in Western Europe’s freedom, the rise of the American Century. and the eventual collapse of the Soviet Union.
