Scarpetta Kay Scarpetta Book 16 – Audiobook Online

Scarpetta – Kay Scarpetta, Book 16, Audiobook Online By: Patricia Cornwell

Leaving behind her medical practice in South Carolina, Kay Scarpetta took up an assignment in New York City, where the NYPD asked her to examine an injured patient in the psychiatric ward.

The handcuffed and shackled patient, Oscar Bane, made a special request to her, and he started talking. He said his wound was from a murder… that he didn’t commit. Was Bane a crazy criminal stalker who targeted Scarpetta? Or is his paranoid story true, and it is he who is being watched, stalked, and stalked by the real killer? The only thing Scarpetta knows for sure is that a woman has been tortured and murdered – and more violent deaths will follow….

The book is very interesting. It makes Kay a little crazier. I feel they are bullying her. The last book and this one is more focused on her personally. I feel that the writer made her more stuck and that’s not Kay Scarpetta!! She’s incredibly smart but she’s not stuck. Anyway, this book is a great read!! Love the plot!! So far, all of Kay S’s carpet books are Great.

Scarpetta is a fine read, but like many later novels, Cornwell gets lost in the minutiae. I wonder how the different parts of the story will tie together. They did, but somehow they didn’t always seem to add value to the story. I find myself getting irritated with the main character because she’s so needy and with female empowerment, I just wonder if all successful women are such weaklings. I’m not. I can’t believe the others are.
