A student at Wurthaven, Will must face the reality of the present.

The powerful magic shown by magicians like his grandfather is only a distant memory. Despite the timid and tedious reality of today, Will needs knowledge that is kept and managed by the university. At each turning point, he finds that magic is supreme, while magicians are trained solely to aid and assist those who hold true power – a power based on a deep-rooted evil. how few people alive know the truth about its foundation.

As a wizard student, he must know his place and stay there, but Will is not like the other students. His grandfather’s upbringing had turned him into something different, something forgotten – something they would learn to fear.

He can exert his power, with every choice, every refusal to submit, Will will create more enemies, enemies who are not content to let him live in peace. With no friends or support, Will must survive the slashes in the dark, for Cerria is no place for those who refuse to follow the rules.

This book left me with some conflicting feelings, but overall, it’s a really good book and we’ll be writing. The author certainly did not let me down and it left me wanting more. It should be noted, though, that this book is dark in tone and has some aspects that sometimes make it uncomfortable to read. Still an enjoyable read with an interesting plot. Please note that it is not really kid friendly.
