I really liked the show and so I started listening to the books. There’s a bit of a repeat of the first book but definitely enough new things to enjoy it. I am very interested in the poverty and hospice system England suffered in the past, so I appreciate the real life stories of people who have been through this. I definitely cried at some parts of the book, so have your tissues ready.

As a nurse, I find this author’s ability to share stories vividly (though they can be tragic) through the eyes of her patients, compelling and compelling. heartwarming. Wonderful and engaging, the way she shares history through storytelling. In addition, the change of voice and the reader’s voice makes it much more interesting. I especially like her Cockney dialect version. Looking forward to hearing the third and final book in this series.
