Shame on Me is the second mystery novel in the Fool Me Once series by Tara Sivec.
Former model Paige McCarty is fed up with just having a pretty face. When her ex-husband’s gambling problems left her extremely miserable and pathetic, she started Investigating a Trick Me with her best friends, Lorlei and Kennedy, to stop the women. other suffered similar play and dismay.

Job: Acting as bait for her husband to have an affair. Target: Matt Russo. The case should easily attract a man’s attention – and Paige has never had any trouble with that. The point is that Matt – in all his hot glory – isn’t such a scoundrel after all.

The case came closer to home than Paige could have imagined – leaving her in the face of a crowd – she wondered if taking the job just to prove she had a brain might not be her best idea.

This is such a cute read! I read it almost once… but again, how could you not read Tara’s content in one go. She grabs you with the hook, then pulls you in. If it’s not drama, it’s hilarity.

This book has it all… Humor, weirdness, a bit of mystery, a love story and some action. What more can you ask for? The characters are a delight. Fascinating storyline. And a little plot twist added to the mix makes this story another hit of Tara! How does she do that? She always has us coming back for more.

Although I soon put some pieces together… not sure if it was because of my latest obsession with crime and mystery novels or if I was just too smart, but putting them together together didn’t detract from the discovery that I was right. . Well, the end result I got was right, in the middle it was something else!

The relationship with Matt and Paige is something else. I almost cringe at the instant attraction/fascination between them. I don’t usually like that in a story.
