This book is about an active shooter. Most of this series (albeit very violent) is humorous. This is worrisome. I’m not usually easily disturbed..Really disturbing, given today’s events. A very good current focus on today’s gun issues. Thought provoking because it brings both sides of the gun control issue. I was expecting a light-hearted reading adventure on the beach with Jack and Harry and crew, and got this. Very well written. Great work by the author.

I am a huge fan of Jack Daniels books and this one did not disappoint me at all. It’s much darker than the others in the series with less of the usual humour, but still packed with things I love from J A Konrath’s writing… action, engaging characters, storytelling excellent. “Shot Girl” certainly has a much more realistic and thought-provoking plot than other Jack Daniels books but is still equally enjoyable. Overall, this is an incredibly well-written, very entertaining, rather scary book, and I can’t wait for the sequel.
