This is the second book in a continuation series. In general, each book can be read separately, however having an overarching plot makes sense only if the books are read in order. The overarching plot is pretty well explained in this book, if you really don’t want to read the first book, but it makes more sense if you read the books in order.

I read the first book in this series quite a while ago and I forgot that I bought the second one right after reading the first one, Whiskey Chaser. I was able to read the book after reading Lucy Score’s Benevolence Series and decided to check it out.

Jameson Bodine comes from a family that’s been through tough times. Jameson was always accused by his father of being weak because of his gentle, timid nature and love of art. Jameson doesn’t feel valued or loved by his father, but he finds refuge in his artwork made from found scrap metal materials. He’s making a living off of his art, but is on the upswing then, if he can complete the biggest mission of his career.
