Skywatchers By: Carrie Arcos – Free Full Audiobook

Skywatchers is a great book by author Carrie Arcos.
From National Book Award finalist Carrie Arcos comes a thrilling, genre-bending mystery about Cold War history and UFO phenomena. Perfect for fans of Tana French’s In the Woods and Netflix’s Stranger Things.

It was 1952. The threat of invasion from the Soviet Union left people bewildered. The government issued an appeal to civilians to act as radar – and Teddy, John, Caroline, Eleanor, Bunny, Frank and Oscar eagerly responded. As members of their high school “Operation Skywatch” club, they, along with others across the country, look up at the sky in an effort to protect the country from attack.

But they weren’t prepared for the strange blue light they saw on duty, it seemed like they weren’t trained to take precautions. So when the mysterious object lands in the woods, Teddy, John, Caroline and Bunny go in to investigate. Then they disappeared.

In this thrilling novel inspired by true events, a group of teenagers will come face to face with the UFO phenomenon and the vastness of the unknown as they try to save each other, and possibly… the whole world. A powerful exploration of what if.

OH! I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I’ve never read sci-fi but my book club chose it as our monthly pick. I was immediately hooked and finished the book within 48 hours. I even cried at the end! (Who I am?)
Full of suspense! It has that Stranger Things vibe that I love. The characters have been well thought out, and each one is fascinating for a different reason. Arcos is a talented writer and she deserves all the credit for this book!
