Smarter Faster Better – Audiobook Online  By: Charles Duhigg

From the author of The Power of Habit, a compelling book that explores the science of productivity and why managing how you think is more important than what you think – with an appendix of real-life lessons to apply to your life.

At the core of Smarter Faster Better are eight key productivity concepts – from motivation and goal setting to focus and decision making – that explain why some people and companies get so much done.

Drawing on the latest findings in neuroscience, psychology, and behavioral economics – as well as the experiences of CEOs, educational innovators, four-star generals, FBI agents, plane pilots and Broadway musicians – this meticulously researched book explains that the most productive people, companies and organizations don’t just act differently. They see the world and their choices in completely different ways.

A young woman dropped out of her doctoral program and started playing poker. By training herself to envision conflicting futures, she learned to predict her opponent’s missteps – and became one of the most successful players in the world. A team of data scientists at Google embarked on a 4-year study of how teams work best and found that how a team interacts with each other is more important than who is on the team – a principle, it turns out, also helps explain why Saturday Night Live has become such a hit.

A Marine general, faced with low morale among recruits, reimagines training camp – and discovers that instilling “action bias” can instantly turn even the most disoriented teenagers into self-motivated individuals.

The filmmakers behind Disney’s Frozen were almost out of time and on the brink of disaster – until they got their team right, spurring a creative breakthrough that led to one of the series. highest grossing movie of all time. What do these people have in common? They know that productivity depends on making certain choices.

How we shape our daily decisions; big ambitions we embrace and easy goals we ignore; the cultures we establish as leaders to drive innovation; how we interact with data: These are the things that separate busy people from really productive people. In The Power of Habit, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Charles Duhigg explains why we do what we do.

In Smarter Faster Better, he applies relentless curiosity, insightful reporting, and rich storytelling to explain how we can improve the things we do. It’s a breakthrough discovery in the science of productivity, one that can help people learn to succeed with less stress and difficulty, and get more done without sacrificing what we want. most interested – to become smarter, faster and better at everything we do.

Very easy to listen to and holds my attention throughout the book. There are 8 different ideas for becoming more productive, each with references to a few different real-world experiences. It makes me a little overwhelmed and want to jump right in and apply them, but I’ll try to remember that it’s not a rule book. Take what you like, leave if you don’t like it.

This book has a lot of information in it. Lots of great techniques and insights that I will use in my personal and professional life. As someone with A.D.D., I love how it’s structured into small chunks of the story and back to them. This is a huge benefit to me and helps me focus and listen. I will come back to this book again for a second listen.
