Stalking Jack the Ripper is a beautiful book by author Kerri Maniscalco, James Patterson.
This delightfully chilling horror novel features a plot inspired by the Ripper murders and an unexpected, bloody ending.

Audrey Rose Wadsworth, 17, was born the daughter of a lord, with a life of wealth and privilege stretching out before her eyes. But between social tea parties and silk dresses, she has a forbidden secret life.

Against the wishes of her strict father and society’s expectations, Audrey often sneaks into her uncle’s laboratory to study the grisly forensic practice. As research into a chain of brutally murdered corpses draws Audrey into the investigation of a serial killer, her search for answers brings her closer to her own sheltered world.

The story will make this dazzling debut by author Kerri Maniscalco unforgettable.

Audrey Rose knows that it’s not entirely appropriate for her to be interested in forensics, but with murderous Jack the Ripper roaming the streets leaving mutilated women’s bodies, her uncle can use anything. the help he could get to dissect their abdomens and examine their bodies. evidence. With the help of her uncle’s handsome young assistant, Thomas, Audrey Rose is getting closer to solving the case. But the closer she gets to the truth, the more chance she has of upsetting her comfortable life and the more dangers she faces. And not only is her life in danger, but the lives of those she loves most.

I really like this book! This is a decent and creative murder mystery based on the infamous Jack the Ripper. The author has done a great job of creating many characters that are suitable for the role of Jack, which keeps me guessing. Her descriptions are very vivid and her characters are very well constructed. I loved the little historical details she put into the story as well as the glimpses into the medical field from that time period. The plot moves at a good, reasonable pace and the author’s writing style is interesting. This was a relatively quick and satisfying read that caught my attention very well.

In Victorian London in the autumn of 1888, prostitutes were killed in gruesome ways in an area of Whitechapel known for its poverty and low status. This is where forensic science steps in to solve the case.

Dr. Jonathan Wadsworth is a forensic maniac as some say he has gone too far and delved into the unnatural and unthinkable. He’s actually talking about doing human transplants. Next, we have his niece, Audrey Rose Wadsworth, who wants to be a forensic scientist who goes against society’s norms. She is an upper-class woman and should look for a suitable husband to care for, provide for and protect her. Finally, we have Thomas Cresswell, the protégé of Dr. Jonathan, who is all-knowing, corporally insensitive, witty, smart, nasty and wants to prove himself in a challenging case. awake. This set the stage for the investigation to find Jack The Ripper.

I was not disappointed with the twists, turns, deceit, and possible list of suspects. Takes you back to a time when social norms ruled people’s lives. Right or wrong was easy to decide.
