The author once again brings to life the characters and the town we already know as Borteen. Insight into life circumstances with great characters. Really enjoyed these stories of townspeople. Highly recommended.
I love the Borteen series of books and have been waiting for the sequel to come out. Digging in, I soon discovered a story that drew me in with characters I was interested in. Serious situations have been handled with care; I cried, I laughed and I welcomed the best moments. It’s been great to learn more about Mandy Vanes, a character who has appeared in previous Borteen novels, and I especially like Nick – a disadvantaged teenager that drives the plot. It was a great read with so much heart.
I love all of Morton Gray’s books, but this is my favorite by far. The characters are beautifully drawn, and I find myself supporting Mandy, the heroine, who suddenly finds herself responsible for a vulnerable teenager while struggling to change her own life. and shed his extravagant reputation. There are places where I find myself in tears. A great read that I couldn’t put down.
