This is a wonderful book. The narration is breathtaking, with the characters brought to life. I really don’t like Zara very much, but the way she is written, as a complete, complex, error-prone human being, has made me invested in her journey. I kept hoping for a different ending, and the ending was unsatisfactory, that’s why I didn’t rate 5 stars. I also wish the author had explored Zara’s unconscious bias, which, for me as a woman of color, skipped the page. It is clear that while she is motivated by seeking justice for an SA victim, she is also heavily influenced in her attitude towards the accused by her own cultural/family trauma. that. I would love to read the author’s point of view on that. I wonder if she was aware of how it appeared.

I have never read this author before, but I am here to tell you that I will read any book she writes. This is a great book and I’m here to tell you that you will regret not choosing this book! Thanks for writing such a great book!
