Sometimes I want a book full of guns and explosions. It would have been better if the plot was easy to follow and didn’t tax me with insights into the human condition. Sometimes I just feel shallow. This book is not original, nor does it push the boundaries of Military Science Fiction. But it’s entertaining.

A dark earth goes against the promise of an interstellar utopia. I would be interested in how they solve the alien problem. I especially like that the aliens are not anthropomorphic or lowly humans but another real life form doing the same things as us, just adapting to a different set of requirements.
