Although the Greek and Roman crew members of the Argo II have made progress in many of their missions, they still can’t seem to defeat mother earth, Gaea. Her giants have risen – all of them – and they are stronger than ever.
They had to be stopped before the Feast of Spes, when Gaea planned to sacrifice two demigods in Athens. She needs their blood – the blood of Olympus – to wake up.
The demigods are getting more frequent images of a gruesome battle at Camp Half-Blood. The Roman legion from Camp Jupiter, commanded by Octavian, was almost within striking distance. Although they would love to bring the Athena Parthenos to Athens to use as a secret weapon, the friends know that the colossal statue belongs to Long Island, where it could prevent a war between the two factions.
Athena Parthenos will go west; The Argo II will sail east. The gods, still suffering from multiple personality disorder, were useless. How can a handful of young demigods hope to persevere against Gaea’s mighty army of giants? Going to Athens was so dangerous, they had no other choice. They have sacrificed too much already. And if Gaea wakes up, it’s game over.
I hope you continue to write stories in the world of Percy Jackson, I want to hear about the future of Percy and Annabeth. I’m looking forward to Nico & Will’s story and I hope to see them as well as Percy & Annebeth’s help. Bob escapes from Tartarus.
I’ve finally finished this series, I’m completely satisfied with how Rick finished it, but still open to the next chapters. If you’ve read this review to decide whether or not to start listening to these books, it’s really emotional. Never a dull moment. His stories never disappoint or fall behind.
