Great audiobook with great vocal performance by Phil Gigante. In this continuation of Gabriel Allon’s series, we finally get to see his dark side, and indeed the dark side. The story transcends the usual country types and brings back all the previous characters in the series.

Lots of exciting action scenes but also a lot of violence. It’s hard to believe that a man, Gabriel Allon, such cold-blooded violence could be soft-hearted about other things. I guess we all want to believe that there is some redemptive value in every person.
