The Flight of the Eisenstein is the fourth book in the Horus Heresy series, written by James Swallow. The book follows the journey of a small group of loyal Space Marines called the Death Guard, who are trying to warn the rest of their legion about the betrayal of their Primarch, Horus.
The story begins with the Death Guard ship known as the Eisenstein fleeing from the Istvaan III massacre where Horus had ordered the destruction of his own loyalist Space Marines. On board the Eisenstein, Captain Nathaniel Garro, a loyalist Death Guard, learns of Horus’s treachery and sets out to warn the Emperor of what has transpired.
As they make their way through warp space, the small crew of the Eisenstein comes under attack by Nurgle, the Chaos God of disease and decay, who seeks to corrupt them. Despite the odds against them, Garro and his crew remain steadfast in their mission to deliver the warning to the Emperor.
Along the way, they encounter several other characters, including Malcador the Sigillite, a powerful psyker who aids them on their journey, and Captain Saul Tarvitz, another loyalist Space Marine who joins them in their fight against the Chaos forces.
Ultimately, the heroes of The Flight of the Eisenstein succeed in delivering their warning to the Emperor, and the stage is set for the next chapter in the Horus Heresy story.

It’s sad to see Toby not narrate this book, but Jonathan does it fairly. The transition from the last book to this one was very well done. Damn, I was so excited when I read the description before I started. The series is top notch and I’m glad there are more products in the store. In the book I go.

The book takes you into the protagonist’s deep thoughts, deep thoughts about the confusion and pain the brave and loyal Space Marine feels every time he tries to unravel dark secrets. the deepest darkness of the universe, has been hidden from him and other s until now.
