The Fourth Crow Gil Cunningham Mysteries – Audiobook Online By: Pat McIntosh

The crowd are gathering above Glasgow, watching the movements of the clergy and townspeople alike….

Tied to St Mungo’s Cross by the cathedral to be cured of her madness overnight by the saint, the young woman is found in the morning beaten and strangled, still tied to the cross. But is she who she seems to be. And who would fluut the saint’s protection like this.

Gil Cunningham must trace the dead woman and find her enemies, track down the thieves and murderers and identify the watchers in the shadows, especially the elusive fourth person who holds the secret of what happened that night. Questioning cathedral staff and apprentice boys, pilgrims and tradesmen, he uncovers only more puzzles. And then there is another death. How is it connected to the first. While his wife, deals with the mystery within their family, Gil has to find the solution to the crimes.

Pat McIntosh has done it again, twisting and thickening plots that keep the reader guessing from start to finish. The storyline really makes you want to be immersed in the main character and supporting cast. Can’t wait for a sequel to the series, luckily the character is young so I hope the author has more murders solved.

Each subsequent volume in this series helps us better understand the main characters, while also giving a better look at the tensions that ran through the lives of late medieval Scottish merchants and aristocrats. Good story combined with good historical description.
