When I first started listening, with no prior knowledge of the story or the author, I thought Oh my God, this is a staring author. But I was hiking so I kept listening, and then…Oh. No, that’s not it. It was bright and gently subversive, not staring but incredibly introspective in a way that drew me in and held me. The narrator’s voice facilitates the entire experience. I would give more stars if I could.
