From the acclaimed author of the Bone Witch trilogy, a macabre tale of a Japanese ghost seeking revenge and a boy with no choice but to trust her, hailed as “a Great creepy story that’s sure to keep readers up at night”
Okiku is a lonely soul. She has roamed the world for centuries, freeing the souls of the dead. Once a victim herself, she now takes the lives of murderers with the vengeance they must pay. But freeing the innocent ghosts from their ethereal ties did not bring Okiku peace. She continued to drift.
That was her existence, until she met Tark. Evil writhed beneath the sullen teenage skin, trapped by a series of intricate tattoos. While the neighbors fear him, Okiku knows the boy is not a monster. Tark needs to be freed from the malevolence that is clinging to him. There was only one problem: if the demon died, so did its host.
I’ve been looking far a good ghost story and fell in love after stumbling across this book. the Narrator did an amazing job in my opinion and read in a way I could picture the ghost would speak if she were around to tell the story herself. Loved this book I have a paperback copy as well as the audio can’t wait to read and listen again
