The Girl Of Hawthorn And Glass / Metamorphosis, Book 1 – Audiobook Online

“The Girl of Hawthorn and Glass” is the first book in the “Metamorphosis” series by Adan Jerreat-Poole. The story revolves around Eli, a young girl who is part human, part “shader,” a creature that can shift forms. Eli is on a quest to find her mother, who is also a shader and has been kidnapped by the Alchemists, a secretive organization. Along the way, Eli meets Conrad, a young man who is also searching for someone he lost. Together, they navigate a treacherous world filled with magic and danger, encountering strange creatures and uncovering dark secrets. The book is a dark fantasy novel that explores themes of identity, family, and power struggles in a unique and imaginative world.

The Girl Of Hawthorn And Glass / Metamorphosis, Book 1, Audiobook Online By: Adan Jerreat-Poole

Eli isn’t just a teenage girl – she’s something created by witches to hunt down ghosts in the human world.

Trained to kill with her seven living swords, Eli is the perfect machine, a deadly assassin. But when one mission fails, Eli begins to question everything she’s been taught about both worlds, Coven and her tyrannical witch mother.

Fearing that she would not be punished for her mistake, Eli sought refuge with a group of rebellious humans and witches. To win her place, she must prove herself by capturing Coven’s Heart. With the help of two humans, a motorcycle and a girl with the smell of the sea, Eli will find the answer – and earn her freedom.

I have received a copy of this book for fair and honest review. This book is more than what I expected. I really love Eli and her magic blades. She is a girl created by a group of witches to be the perfect assassin and she has never failed before and now she has a fear of not being made. I did more in describing the world they were in and the story became a bit clearer, but I guess that could happen in the second book of the series. It was well done for a debut novel.

Eli, a teenage assassin created by witches sent to the human world to kill ghosts. She ends up befriending a rag-tagging group in hopes of avoiding proletariat, and ultimately getting more than she bargained for. This incredibly dark and whimsical story is the perfect one to read for the spooky season. It features cruel characters and stern witches, ghosts that lurk between humans and the magical world. I would recommend this to fans of Melissa Albert’s The Hazel Wood & The Night Country, as well as VE Schwab’s Gallant.
