I enjoyed Tom Joad’s intro. When the truck driver picked him up and started talking to him, he knew right away that he was being overrated. Fresh out of prison, he is sharp, honest and proud and will not be looked down upon. The dialogue and characterization in this scene brought his character to life as a hopeful hero.
