The Hitler Conspiracies – Audiobook Online
“The Hitler Conspiracies” by Richard J. Evans is a work of non-fiction that examines the various conspiracy theories surrounding Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany. The book sets out to debunk these theories and analyze the historical evidence that contradicts them. The author explains that many of these conspiracies began circulating after World War II ended, and have persisted to this day. Among the conspiracies that Evans confronts are those involving Hitler’s supposed escape to South America after the war, the assertion that Hitler and the Nazis were secretly controlled by Jewish or Communist forces, and the belief that there was a secret society of Nazis plotting to take over the world after the war. The author argues that many of these theories are founded on dubious claims and a selective use of evidence, and that they overlook important historical context. Overall, “The Hitler Conspiracies” is a compelling and well-researched exploration of the myths and legends surrounding one of the most notorious leaders in history.

The famous historian of the Third Reich takes on the conspiracy theories surrounding Adolf Hitler and the Nazis, in an important history book for the ‘post-truth’ era.
The view that nothing happens by chance in history, that nothing is quite what it seems at first glance, that everything is the result of the secret conspiracies of evil groups that manipulate everything. things from behind the scenes – these conceptions are as old as history itself. But conspiracy theories are becoming more prevalent and pervasive in the 21st century. Nowhere have they become more apparent than in revisionist accounts of the history of the Third Reich. Discredited conspiracy theories have long taken on a new life, fueled by claims of newly discovered evidence and novel investigative angles.
In The Hitler Conspiracies, renowned historian Richard Evans makes five widely discussed claims concerning Hitler and Nazi Germany and brings them to the forensic examination: that the Jews were plotting to destroy culture. demonstrated, as stated in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, that the German army was ‘stabbed in the back’ by socialists and Jews in 1918, that the Nazis burned the Reichstag to seize control. Authority, that Rudolf Hess’ flight to Great Britain in 1941 was approved by Hitler and communicated the terms of peace suppressed by Churchill and that Hitler escaped the bunker in 1945 and fled to South America. In doing so, it brings up some surprising features that these and other conspiracy theories have in common.
This is a history book, but it is a history book for the ‘post-truth’ and ‘alternative truth’ era: a book for our own hard times.
This is an excellent book in which a brilliant, analytical and deeply scholarly author systematically destroys the conspiracy theories and “evidence” by conspiracy theorists. offered to support them. There’s quite a bit of contempt and a lot of anger here.
Evans lays out five Nazi conspiracy theories and, as you’d expect from such a eminent historian, systematically points to them for their nonsense. Especially liked the destruction of the infamous Gray Wolf. Unfortunately, as we often see today, some people will believe if they want to believe regardless of the evidence in front of them.
