Even though the idea of a narrative that entails the survival of President Lincoln’s assassination attempt by John Wilkes Booth seemed implausible, I had always been curious about the possible outcomes if Mr. Lincoln had lived. Despite a sluggish beginning, the thought of discontinuing the book never occurred to me and shortly after starting it, I found myself deeply engrossed. Thanks to this book, I now have a better grasp of America after the Civil War. Paul Boehmer’s narration is exceptional!
