The Ink Master’s Silence is a book written by C. J. Archer. It is part of the Glass and Steele series, which follows the adventures of India Steele, a clever and resourceful woman living in Victorian London.

In this particular installment, the story revolves around the murder of the editor of The Weekly Gazette, a prominent newspaper in London. The editor’s death sparks controversy and intrigue, leading Oscar Barratt, a journalist and ink magician, to seek India and her partner Matt’s help in investigating the crime.

Oscar Barratt becomes involved in the case because he believes he was the intended target of the murder. As an ink magician, he possesses a unique ability to create magical spells using specially crafted ink and paper. However, he has been receiving threatening letters written on magic paper, which leads him to suspect that someone is targeting him.

India Steele and Matt Glass are no strangers to solving mysteries. India is a strong-willed woman with a sharp mind, while Matt is a brilliant and enigmatic man with his own secrets. Together, they form an unlikely but effective team as they navigate the dangerous world of magic and crime in Victorian London.

As India and Matt delve deeper into their investigation, they uncover a web of secrets and deceit that reaches far beyond the murder of the newspaper editor. They encounter various suspects, each with their own motives and hidden agendas. Along the way, they must confront their own personal demons and face challenges that test their abilities and resolve.

The Ink Master’s Silence combines elements of mystery, fantasy, and historical fiction to create an engaging and captivating story. C. J. Archer skillfully weaves together intricate plotlines, richly developed characters, and vivid descriptions of Victorian London to immerse readers in a world where magic and danger coexist.

Overall, The Ink Master’s Silence is a thrilling addition to the Glass and Steele series. It offers a compelling blend of suspense, romance, and magic, keeping readers on the edge of their seats until the very end.

This should have been a happy time for India and Matt, but forces beyond their control conspire to ruin their future. A distraction from their troubles comes in the form of murder.

When the editor of The Weekly Gazette is killed, controversial journalist and ink magician, Oscar Barratt, asks India and Matt to investigate. As the recipient of threatening letters written on magical paper, he believes himself to be the intended target. With suspects ranging from Oscar’s brother to London’s clan chiefs and elites, India and Matt have a lot to do.

But the deeper they dig, the more dark secrets they uncover; blackmail-related secrets and an exclusive club of magic collectors who want to preserve the value of their collection. When one of the secrets could give India and Matt the future they desire, will they give in to blackmail or sacrifice their happiness?

I found that the mystery was very good. I didnt really care for the ending or for the fact that Steele lied to Glass. I am still at times bothered that she is so stupid at times. I really don’t like her nativity i guess. it makes her appear stupid. But I do like all the other characters.
