I love Charlie Parker and his friends. The description of the spider’s attack was so detailed that I couldn’t listen and forward it until it was safe to hear it again. I hate spiders, so sometimes my skin crawls up like an ant, making me shiver in fear. The bloody brilliant story is brought to life the way it is read. Highly recommended.
I’m impressed that John Connolly’s Charlie Parker novels are consistent in style and content. This suggests that if you love book one, then two, three, and four will please readers/listeners equally. Here is my experience so far. Connolly’s novels tend to leave me yearning for the next one, at the end of Charlie’s gruesome and intriguing cases. Jeff Harding provides a consistent narrative of equally powerful advertising for stories. I love The Killing Kind, it’s a gripping, gritty crime thriller. Arachnophobes beware.
