The Last Of The Moon Girls – Audiobook Online

“The Last of the Moon Girls” is a novel written by Barbara Davis that tells the story of a young woman named Mercy who possesses healing powers inherited from her grandmother, Maize. Growing up in Blue Ridge Mountains, Virginia, Mercy was ostracized by the townspeople because they feared her powers.

The novel begins with Mercy returning to her hometown after receiving a letter from her estranged mother, Echo. Upon her return, Mercy finds that the town is still as cruel as ever, with people whispering about her and shunning her. She also learns that Echo is dying, and has requested Mercy to help solve a mystery about her grandmother.

As Mercy delves into her family’s history, and begins to understand the truth about her grandmother’s past, she starts to realize that her healing powers are real and that they could help her mother. But the townspeople are not interested in helping Mercy, and she faces challenges and danger as she races to uncover the truth.

Throughout the book, Mercy’s story is intertwined with that of Maize, who lived in the 1940s and faced similar challenges and had a similar gift. As the narrative switches between time periods, the two women’s stories overlap, revealing how the past has shaped the present.

“The Last of the Moon Girls” is ultimately a story about family, identity, and the search for truth. The novel is a richly detailed exploration of small-town life and the power of community, as well as a moving meditation on the strength of women and the importance of self-acceptance.

A novel about secrets, memories, family, and forgiveness by the bestselling author of When Never Comes.

Lizzy Moon never wanted Moon Girl Farm. Eight years ago, she left the land that nine generations of talented healers had cared for, determined to stay away from whispers of her family’s strange heritage. But when her beloved grandmother Althea dies, Lizzy must return and face the tragedy that still hangs over the ranch’s withered lavender fields: the unsolved murder of two young girls, and cruel accusations followed Althea to the grave.

Lizzy wants nothing more than to sell her farm and return to her life in New York, until she discovers a diary that Althea left her – a book of memories meant to help Lizzy grasp Get your own special gifts. When she reconnects with Andrew Greyson, one of the few people in town who believes in Althea’s innocence, she is determined to clear her grandmother’s name.

But to do so, she will have to decide if she can accept her legacy and whether to follow in the footsteps of all the Moon women who came before her.

It’s interesting when you read a book at a time when you are fragile in your life and that book helps you to see things in a different way and they help you and guide you in a new direction. I love this book. I will remember it forever. the rest of my life is amazing I look forward to reading more books by this author.

This is the second Davis novel I have read, and I can honestly say that her elegant prose and descriptive writing hold a special place in my heart. She is a good and skillful storyteller. I enjoyed the characters and lively language throughout this gripping story, which is a bit magical and romantic as well as the family aspect. It seems the main plot is about murders that are put together easily.
