Really enjoyed this book as it took the main characters point of view and really captured the feeling of the struggles. It’s not groundbreaking writing but it was very enjoyable. The authors did a good job bringing the character to life without giving us an overly boring backstories, which allowed you to find out about the character as the story went along. I’m not really familiar with this world universe that the authors use but I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more in the series. It’s a good, quick, fast-paced, decent dialogue, enjoyable book.

Wow. I love JN Chaney and his Renegade books, but his collaboration with Scott Moon has taken it to a new level. Set in the Renegade universe, it’s a stand alone book, so you don’t have to have read his other books to enjoy this. Of course if you haven’t read them, after this, you will! Non stop action pretty much from the start. I had thought it’d be kind of like ‘Escape from New York’, A similar premise, in that Cain has to rescue someone from a supermax prison, but the pace of the story never let’s up. The usual mix of action and humour that I love from Chaney, there is also intrigue as you know the characters are hiding something. The kind of book you can’t put down. I read this in one sitting and ended up staying awake all night just so I could finish it. I can’t wait for the next instalment.
