The Last to See Her
- Narrated by: Vivienne Leheny
Gen is on the verge of divorce from her cheating husband. When her sister, Meg, had a conference to attend at the Big Apple, she invited Gen along to celebrate her new-found freedom. But the perfect sister’s getaway quickly goes awry when the unruly drunk Gen throws her wedding ring off the hotel room balcony. Then, wanting a breath of fresh air, she decided to go for a late evening walk alone and disappeared without a trace.
Subsequent investigation uncovered secrets – and betrayals – between sisters and husband and wife that would distort the truth until nothing came to light.
What really happened to Gen and who, other than Meg, was the last person to see her?
Wow! After so many recent duds, THIS is my perfect listen. Vivienne Leheny’s narration is like candy in my ears. I love everything she does.
The story was somewhat predictable, but in a gradual, Intentional way. Tate was masterful at including something for everyone… suspense, mystery, romance, depth and light humor. Worth the credit!
There was a lot going on in this book. There were many surprises. I would lean this way, then find some new facts and lean the other way. There were many times I found my thoughts were off the track. The book had many angles where something looked devastating, but ended up benign. I enjoyed reading it and I didn’t guess the ending.
I had no idea this book would be so good. It was just wow after wow after wow. Excellent story!
Compelling and a true page turner. The epilogue was as I hoped. Finely drawn characters , easy plot line, everything you could ask for.
