This book is so good down to the last sentence/statement. I started it not long after a mass shooting so I had to wait a bit before I listened again. But then I couldn’t wait any longer —her books are my favorites —and I’m so glad I kept at it. Talk about ripped from the headlines. I kept thinking “amen” to the good characters and their critiques of hatred and how hatred is (or isn’t) covered. I so needed that even though it can be hard to listen to hate speech from bad characters. Despite heaviness, there’s still the humor we adore from Karin Slaughter/her characters. A must-read, just be forewarned re triggers.
