Nick Costa’s series of books are well worth a listen. The characters are developed throughout the series, so be sure to start at the beginning of the series. The books are a great blend of Italy (at least Rome and Venice) today as well as a look back in history. Each book allows you to easily visualize exactly what is going on and where it is going… Hewson paints the scene and the pacing so well, you feel like you’re watching something. that instead of listening. I hope the sound hits Dante’s Peak soon!

Having never been to Italy, I had to really focus on the story from the start. it’s well worth my attention when I get into it. Murders happen very often and take a long time to solve. The whole process was really enjoyable, making for a great listening experience. I really enjoyed the author’s interview at the end. Brilliant narration.
