The Lost Tide Warriors / Storm Keeper Quartet, Book 2 Audiobook Online

The Lost Tide Warriors by Catherine Doyle is the second book in the Storm Keeper Quartet series. The story takes place on the island of Arranmore, a magical island where the elements have a life of their own. The island’s residents, including protagonist Fionn Boyle, are the keepers of ancient powers that have been passed down through generations. In this book, Fionn discovers that his grandfather is in danger and needs his help. He learns about an evil force called The Soulstalkers, who are attacking the island and destroying everything in their path. They are led by Fionn’s own mother, who is under the control of an ancient evil known as the Grey Man. Fionn must team up with his friends and family, including his sister and father, to stop the Soulstalkers and free his mother from the Grey Man’s control. Along the way, Fionn discovers new powers that he didn’t know he had and learns more about the history and mythology of Arranmore. The Lost Tide Warriors is a story of family, friendship, and adventure, with a richly imagined world and a thrilling battle between good and evil. The book continues the exciting, magical tale begun in the first book of the series, The Storm Keeper’s Island.

In the brilliant sequel to The Storm Keeper’s Island, winner of the Books Are My Bag Readers’ Choice Award, Fionn Boyle finds herself at the center of the battle for the island’s survival.

Fionn Boyle had been Arranmore’s Storm Keeper for less than six months when thousands of fearsome Soulstalkers arrived on the island. The empty-eyed followers of the fearsome sorceress Morrigan have come to raise their leader, and Fionn is powerless to stop them. The Storm Keeper’s magic has abandoned him, and with his grandfather’s memory waning, Fionn must enlist his friends Shelby and Sam to help him summon Dagda’s army of cyborgs. But no one else believes that these ferocious sea creatures even exist.

And how can he prove that he is right without any magic? As Fionn began his search for the lost army, the other islanders prepared for the invasion. The battle to save Arranmore has begun.

I love this book because it’s all predictable what happens when Ivan and thousands of other soul stalkers try to destroy Arremore. I love the part where Fion’s magic comes into play and he creates a new lightning element that kills morigan’s brother just as she’s about to be resurrected from her cave prison. While Fion, Sam and Shelby search for the tidal summoner to bring back Dagda’s Merrow army.

What a powerful book and great sequel. The narration is perfect, hypnotic and rich – the perfect sound for such magical, evocative words, woven together like a song in the wind. The giggles, the tears, the excitement, the sadness, the beauty. I cried ugly tears, smiled at the amusing interactions between the characters, and stayed up late listening to “just one more chapter” because I needed to know what was going to happen next. Can’t wait to read the next one.
