I really liked this book. I immediately connected with the main character, Penny, and appreciated her journey of going her own way to meet her needs. On the surface, it’s a love story between Penny and three lovers – each special in their own way. At its core, this is a book about self-love and the powerful impact of healthy friendships and family on one’s life. There is also a nod to feminism in this book. Penny has the right to choose between her three lovers, in building a business and raising a family, both biological and the chosen. It’s a modern view of female empowerment that a woman should want it all as long as it serves her. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a fast-paced contemporary love story with lots of drama and a modern twist from HEA.

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC. Penny finally meets the man of her dreams but she has to put the relationship on hold to go to her uncle’s pub in Derbyshire. Thirty seconds after leaving London, she realizes her mistake by asking her boyfriend to be just friends but he is kissing another girl. She goes on and sows her oats in Derbyshire, so who does she really love? I think this is an old story too – one person left, realized their mistake, came back and their other person moved on. However, it was turned into a sweet story. Some parts are a bit too colorful for me but still good.
