I listened to the end, enjoyed the lyricism, and saw Tam. Ware brings geography to life. However, it could be a bit shorter. Although I didn’t anticipate the exact ending, she foreshadowed it with a mid-sentence comment about how easily the Factory could catch fire. Not a bad thing. I will read/listen to Ruth Ware again.
It is fine however I have a few problems. There is some repetition mainly with overused phrases. I liked all the characters except I struggled with Iza but just for the sake of constantly defending or rather justifying Lucs behavior this guy was a jerk and simple but iza used her terrible childhood as an excuse and she seems to condemn Kate, who in my opinion is the real victim of the two. I don’t see the full meaning of having Freya in the story, it would have been fine without her so it was a bit annoying but other than that the story was amazing. I was able to quickly figure out that it was Luc who killed Ambrose however I was wrong as to why. I think it’s possible that Ambrose was abusing Kate and therefore Luc took it upon himself to do justice as Ambrose seemed a bit too obsessed with his daughter. The narration is great.
