The Opportunist By Tarryn Fisher – Audiobook Online

The Opportunist is the first book in the Love Me with Lies series written by Tarryn Fisher. This gripping novel explores themes of love, betrayal, and the complexities of human relationships. The story follows the tumultuous journey of Olivia Kaspen, a young woman who is determined to win back her ex-boyfriend Caleb Drake, even if it means resorting to manipulation and deceit.

The book begins with Olivia attending a funeral where she unexpectedly runs into Caleb, her former lover. It becomes evident that their relationship ended on a sour note, and Olivia is desperate to make amends and reignite their romance. However, Caleb has no recollection of their past together due to an accident that caused him to lose his memory.

Undeterred by this setback, Olivia seizes the opportunity to rewrite their history and recreate their relationship from scratch. She befriends Caleb and gradually inserts herself into his life, all while keeping her true intentions hidden. As they spend more time together, Olivia’s feelings for Caleb resurface, and she becomes torn between her desire for him and the guilt of her manipulative actions.

Throughout the narrative, Fisher delves into Olivia’s complex psyche, exploring her motivations and insecurities. The reader is given glimpses into Olivia’s troubled childhood and the events that shaped her into the opportunistic person she has become. As the story progresses, it becomes clear that Olivia’s actions are driven by a deep fear of abandonment and a need for control.

As Olivia’s plan unfolds, she discovers that Caleb has moved on with another woman named Leah Smith. This revelation intensifies Olivia’s determination to win him back at any cost. She resorts to increasingly desperate measures, including sabotaging Caleb’s relationship with Leah and manipulating those around her to further her own agenda.

However, as Olivia’s web of lies grows more intricate, she finds herself caught in a tangled mess of deceit. Her actions have consequences, not only for herself but also for those around her. The novel explores the destructive power of lies and the lengths people will go to protect their secrets.

As the story reaches its climax, Olivia’s carefully constructed facade begins to crumble. The truth about her manipulations is revealed, and she is forced to confront the consequences of her actions. The Opportunist ends on a cliffhanger, leaving readers eager to continue the series and discover what lies ahead for Olivia and Caleb.

I read the original book, but I decided to buy the Audible version! I was not disappointed! This version does Tarryn’s book justice!

Tarryn Fisher has claimed the title as my absolute favorite author. I love how her characters don’t get dizzy….but they’re so flawed in other ways. Just like some of her other books I’ve read, this story affirms your emotions and keeps you in the loop. You spend the whole story trying to decide if she deserves what happened to her. Every time you move from the past to the present, you are anxious to hear more stories behind to get more answers. After being stunned by Mudvein, I was expecting disappointment with this. I am NOT disappointed. This has the same emotional appeal and forces you to empathize with the characters. I blame the tears on my current hormonal condition, though. I should be careful when calculating her reading time from now on.

I’ve been waiting for this series to be available on audiobooks. This series you must listen to. They are extraordinary.

I love that Andi changes her voice to have high notes, low notes, suitable for different characters. Caleb is said to have a bit of a British accent and she’s great with it.
I loved this book when I read it myself and now love it even more when I hear the characters!

I love the story about Caleb and Olivia. It left me wanting to see what happens next between these two. It’s annoying at times but I’m always supportive of Caleb and Olivia finding each other forever. Well written, also liked the narration. Not my favorite ending but 2 more books so I won’t stop reading. I present the love story of Caleb and Olivia.
