The Project By Courtney Summers – Audiobook Online

The Project is a young adult thriller novel written by Courtney Summers. The story revolves around the life of Lo Denham, a seventeen-year-old girl who becomes entangled in the dark and mysterious world of a cult-like organization called The Unity Project. The book explores themes of manipulation, power, and the search for truth.

The narrative is divided into two timelines: “Then” and “Now.” In the “Then” timeline, Lo recounts her past experiences with The Unity Project, while in the “Now” timeline, she tries to uncover the truth behind the organization’s activities.

Lo’s older sister, Bea, was once a member of The Unity Project but has now gone missing. Lo is determined to find out what happened to her sister and expose the truth about The Unity Project. As she delves deeper into her investigation, Lo discovers that The Unity Project is not what it seems on the surface.

The Unity Project is led by Lev Warren, a charismatic and enigmatic figure who claims to be able to heal people and provide them with purpose. Through his manipulative tactics, Lev gains a devoted following and exerts control over their lives. Lo becomes increasingly suspicious of Lev’s intentions and starts questioning his methods.

As Lo investigates further, she uncovers disturbing secrets about The Unity Project and its inner workings. She encounters former members who share their harrowing experiences and reveal the organization’s dark side. Lo’s determination to find her sister puts her in danger as she becomes a target of The Unity Project.

Throughout the book, Summers explores the psychological impact of belonging to a cult-like organization and the struggle to break free from its grip. She delves into themes of identity, loyalty, and the lengths one will go to protect those they love.

Lo Denham was used to being alone. After her parents died in a tragic car accident, her older sister Bea joined the elusive community called Project Unity, leaving Lo to fend for herself. Desperate not to lose the only family she has left, Lo has spent the past six years trying to reconnect with Bea, only to receive radio silence.

When Lo is given the perfect opportunity to access Bea’s reclusive life, she thinks they’ll finally be reunited. But it’s hard to find someone who doesn’t want to be found, and as Lo delves deeper into the Project and its charismatic leader, she begins to realize that there’s more to it than just her relationship with Bea: her own life could be at risk.

As she uncovers more questions than answers at each turn, everything Lo thought she knew about herself, her sister, and the world is turned upside down. However, one thing hasn’t changed and that’s what keeps her going: Bea needs her and Lo will do anything to save her.

I listened to the audiobook of this book and immediately bought a physical copy when I finished listening. From the beginning, I couldn’t stop and get this book out of my mind; I had to finish it. Summers is one of my favorite authors because she knows exactly how to engage me and keep me coming back every time I read her books. The project is a roller coaster ride that follows a young woman, Lo, in search of her younger sister, Bea, who has joined a religious group. It is written in a parallel timeline from the point of view of both sisters as they experience The Unity Project. This story really demonstrates to me how the influence of a strong personality can change someone’s entire outlook on life.

I think this book is for a specific audience and I happen to be one of them. I felt manipulated and felt like the main character did, I felt like I was in her shoes. turning point at the end that I really don’t see coming. the main character is definitely not likable but that makes it more realistic and that doesn’t bother me. The narrator did a great job and I have no more complaints about that. but I wish there was a bigger difference between the two narrators because every time I switch perspective, I get confused as to whose perspective it is.

Courtney Summers is my favorite author. She has a way of making you feel emotions that are so complex and complex that I can’t put into words. You just have to read them to understand. I’ve been fascinated with crime and cult stories for a long time, largely because I couldn’t understand how someone could voluntarily participate in them. Courtney makes you feel it. She makes you see how brilliantly someone can easily pray to it. Even while reading, I felt like I was masterfully drawn to the Unification Project, but I don’t want to reveal anything so I’ll just say this. Please read this book. And while you’re at it, read her other books.
